Prof. Balghis Badri
Is currently Director of the Regional Institute of Gender, Diversity, Peace and Rights at Ahfad University for Women, Omdurman/Sudan. She holds a PhD in Sociology/Social Anthropology from Hull University/UK. Balghis Badri is a specialist in gender studies; she is the founder of Women, Gender and Development Studies in Sudan in 1979 and initiated the development of post-graduate programmes on Gender and Development, Gender and Peace Studies, Gender, Migration and Multicultural Studies, and Gender and Governance at Ahfad University. Among her most recent research works are “Pathways to the New Constitution in Sudan ( 2011-2012) ”, Gender and Diversity (2011- 2012), “The Impact of Quota System in Sudan on Enhancing Women´s Political Engagement in Party Politics. 2011-2012”, “Contesting the Sudanese Constitution from a Good Governance and Gender Dimension" (2007/2008) and "Inter-Communal Conflict and Traditional Conflict Resolution Mechanism In Sudan" (2005).
Dr. Mahasin Ahmed Elabass
Is Currently Assistant Professor, Coordinator of the Master 'Gender Development and Peace Studies' She has .established the university horticultural nursery and the environment association. In 2010 she had oportunity to go to Costa Rica and study She has studied Environmental Security and Peace studies in the UN. Earlier, she has been a lecturer in Lecturer school of Health Sciences and executive director of Babiker Badri Scientific Association Women Studies .
Dr. Ahmed Gamal Eldin
An Associate Professor of Development and Migration at the Regional Institute of Gender, Diversity, Peace and Rights of Ahfad University for Women (AUW), Sudan. He is a co-founder and coordinator of the master programme in Gender and Migration Studies at AUW, and EMMIR Course Director. Dr Gamal Eldin acquired his first degree in Economics from the University of Khartoum and his MA and PhD from the University of Leeds, UK. Before joining AUW, he spent over 10 years working for various national and international aid agencies in Sudan and England. He also worked as an independent consultant for various UN agencies, including UNDP, UNHCR, FAO, UNFPA and WHO. His current research interest includes state and migration, development and migration, the representations and responses to urban-based IDPs and the political economy of humanitarian and development work in Africa.
Dr. Mai Izeldeen Osman.
An associate professor in gender and development. Specialized in social psychology issues as well as gender and women studies issues. Conducted several researches in issues of violence, Diversity, Empowerment, peace and other issues. Teaching different courses for graduate and undergraduate level such as Introduction to psychology, women studies, gender and development, Gender and Feminism concepts and theories, gender sensitive policies and planning and other courses. The research interest on gender and cultural issues.current research project on violence against women in conflict areas.
Tayseer El Fatih
A lecturer at the Regional Institute of Gender, Diversity, Peace and Rights of Ahfad University for Women in Omdurman/Sudan. She is teaching a Gender and Development Studies Course at the undergraduate level. Currently, she is a PhD candidate in Gender and Development. She obtained her Master degree in Gender and Development from Ahfad University for Women. Her areas of specialisation and interest include gender and governance, women empowerment, peace and development. She teaches, develops curricula, researches and trains in the field of gender and development. She is a member of the Executive Committee of the Babiker Badri Scientific Association for Women Studies, assuming the role of the head of the research office of the Association for the period 2011-2014.

Dr. Arwa Alkhangi
An assistant Professor, Has a bachelor degree of medicine and general surgery from the university of medical science and technology, Khartoum, 2002. Worked in several hospitals up to the year 2009 when joined the Master program of gender and development in RIGDPR and in the year 2011, earned the Master degree and joined the staff of RIGDPR. In 2016, earned the PhD degree in gender and development, as a scholarship (via RIGDPR)from NORAD, Burgen university, Norway. Teaches gender and women studies course to undergraduate students, and teaches gender and heath course to the postgraduate students. Facilitates workshops in gender and reproductive health, safe motherhood, gender based violence and engendering the health policies.
